So, just about every blogger has their mandatory “New Year’s Resolutions” entry. I didn’t do one until now because I generally keep my resolutions for less than a week and then give up on them completely.
For whatever reason, I’ve actually managed to keep mine for more than half a month now, so I’ll mention them for the sake of posting some more than once a month.
- I’ve been trying to get into shape, so I’ve been working out every other day. So far, it’s actually working–my depression has been almost eliminated (did you know that exercise affects neurotransmitter levels in the brain? Look it up.); I look better; and my running speed has increased dramatically. This morning I ran two miles, lifted weights, then ran two more miles. I’m planning on competing in a duathlon (run 2miles, bike 15, run 2) in May, but I feel like I’m ready for it now. I’ve run 22 miles so far this year.
- I’ve been trying to mediate more. So far, I’ve mediated for a couple hours total. Not bad.
- Crush the world’s governments beneath my heel and rule on high. (Needs work.)
