New Links in the Blogroll

I finally got around to acknowledging the existence of two of my frequent commenters, Robguy and Jeremy, by adding them to my the blogroll links on the right.  Much appreciated, guys.

Have a look at their sites, and go buy some of Jeremy’s custom-made figures. He’ll have another mouth to feed tomorrow.

Search Phrases

I check the stats for my site on a regular basis–not because I get any sort of advertising revenue from this site, but because I’m curious about who visits and why. One of the more interesting sections is “search phrases,” which is what people typed into Google (or whatever) to arrive here. Most of the stuff makes sense after I think about it a bit, but some of it is just insane.

Here are a few of the more bizarre:

  • crushed by a giant foot
  • carfuck
  • no microphone problems in jesus name
  • self mutilation photos [Why would you ever look for that? Fuck you, internet.]
  • absolute bastard [You've come to the right place.]
  • lesbian [I swear this word wasn't on my site anywhere before today.]
  • baron von chickenpants
  • self harm dislocated shoulder
  • ravenous slor
  • ivy league convo in burger joint
  • king louis fucker [What?]
  • how much static electricity body [That sounds like a science project I want nothing to do with.]
  • urinal pennies
  • how to make a slor powered car? [The fuck is a slor? Did you mean "solar," genius?]

There also seem to be an amazing number of people who desperately hate their roommates. It’s strange that I have this many people arriving here when I have one post about hating my roommate–and it’s from 2004.

I saved the best for last–out of all of the phrases, my favorite is easily “motherfucker stole my sandwich.” I laughed out loud when I saw that.

New Theme

January 9, 2008 - 9pm

As you can see, I’ve put up a new theme on my blog. I think it’s better than the previous design, which had been described as “a little eyebleedy.”

It’s a bit bland at the moment, but I’m planning to play around with the colors to liven things up.

Update: Holy crap, ask and ye shall receive. I asked Laeren (see brand-spankin’-new blogroll) for some color advice on the new layout, and she went nuts tearing my CSS a new div hole. Thank so much, it looks great.

It’s very close to what I was hoping to do on my own… once I got past the fact that I have so little color sense I can barely match clothes.

Updated update: If you’re still seeing the blue and white theme, do a hard refresh by pressing Ctrl+F5. This will work in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape. I don’t know about Opera and Safari. Anyone using those mutant browsers is on their own.
